Flash FAQ provides a great tool for comparing various FLV codecs. The interface is both elegant and addictive. You can save yourself a lot of time. Sorenson Squeeze consistently produces the best images.
Beyond the coolness factor, Flash has emerged as the platform of choice for innovative web video interface design. How I wish Apple had kept pushing QuickTime’s interactive features.
I just don’t see it that way. The On2 looks better to me.

The Sorenson looks less blocky in solid areas with subtle motion. I also prefer Sorenson’s gamma.
I jsut plain dont like the quality of Flash transcodes – I’m a h.264 man, and I am ashamed to say that I am warming to WMV advanced profile, because I recieve the fewest complaints about configuration. Most of my clients’ consituency use WM Player.
