Summer of NASCAR

So now that it’s official, I can tell the world. I’m taking a brief leave of absence from my duties with Kingpin Interactive and Xprove to work with a team from ABC News as a producer/editor for a series on NASCAR.

Through all my career changes of the past seven years – e-business consultant, web designer, MBA candidate, software developer, teacher, and writer – whenever someone asked what industry I was in the answer was always, “Television. I’m an editor.”

I will return to Kingpin and Xprove in September. My work in both companies isn’t done. But the stars aligned and I had to jump at the chance. I know I won’t be able to resist answering Xprove support queries on the weekends. Nor will I be able to keep my nose out of the Kingpin projects in the pipeline, but everything’s in good hands.

I’ll continue to blog here and at StudioDaily.com. Being in the trenches day in and day out will surely provide me with a different perspective.

Hoping Dan, Dave, and my clients will have me back in September.

  1. I’m looking forward to seeing your NASCAR work Frank. Best of luck!

  2. For those who don’t know, Tom is one of the best slo-mo guys in sports.

    Frank,
    When does this show air?

That and I got a call from Rick McNug-ee-an (editor, don’t have a spelling for the last name). Sounds like a guy we could use here at Moore Huntely Productions.

    What’ the good word?

  4. Well, I tell ya… I wouldn’t hire Manoogian to cut my lawn. But an hour of prime time… he’ll be just fine.

In all seriousness, he’s an amazing editor – talented and fun to work with.
