Tentative Red schedule

Turned out Friday was a great time to make an announcement. Jim Jannard posted this yesterday at RedUser.net. The schedule is below. August 30’s not bad and pretty darn close to my prediction last year at an Avid User Group meeting that got me a good smack down from several industry pundits once word got out.

Based on the tentative schedule, it looks like it will be a while before we get a good sample of best practices for a post workflow.

700 hundred units per month? I’ll bet they’ll miss that target. From what we know to date, the members of the Red team are perfectionists. They won’t be able to QA at that pace, no matter how efficient manufacturing gets.

Production camera schedule:
Serial numbers 1 (Jannard’s)-50 August 30th (50 units)
Serial numbers 51-100 September 15th (50 units)
Serial numbers 101-300 October 10th (200 units)
Serial numbers 301- 700 November 10th (400 units)
Serial numbers 701- 1200 December 10th (500 units)
Serial numbers 1201- 1700 January 10th (500 units)
Serial numbers 1701- 2200 February 10th (500 units)
Serial numbers 2201- 2700 March 10th (500 units)
Serial numbers 2701- 3400 April 10th (700 units)
Serial numbers 3401- 4100 May 10th (700 units)
