Long road short paws

I publish so many photos of my corgi that I’ve shied away from including pictures of Carson, my intrepid companion on so many of my photo hunts, in the collection. She’s a very patient companion, waiting dutifully for me to take all my bracketed exposures, but sometimes enough is enough. This image captures one of those times.

After a couple of hours in the woods, Carson decided it was time to go home. She was right. This was my last photo of the day.

Often I wonder about what the two of us might look like trudging through the woods, slow as molasses in January. In a typical weekend walk we cover about 2.5 miles in 2.5 hours. What’s the hurry? My chores will be there when we get back.
