Netflix #1 with millennials

No surprises here except that this is the first year Netflix topped the survey. Actually what is more surprising is that this is the first year Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu were included in the survey – causing me to question the value of the data. Take it as a snapshot of a point in time, but don’t extrapolate trends.

Brand equity among the Big Four networks eroded more with younger viewers –only 62% included one of the Big Four in their top ‘must keep’ list in 2017, down 19 points from 81% a decade ago.

But, as the the graphic shows, the big four broadcast networks round out the top 5 with Netflix. This points to an extremely fragmented media market among millennials. Ideally we would have more data on how the survey data was gathered.
